Char is currently at work on a memoir in paintings and stories about the AIDS crisis years. During the 1980s she was a member of The Girl Artists. View as a Designer
Char wants to make quality design accessible.
Working collaboratively with clients–no matter how small or grand their projects–she helps them to define their vision and in turn creates beautiful and successful designs.
Having worked as a designer since 1998 she discovered a love of branding, type and telling stories visually. Fast on her feet she is often asked to provide headlines, and short copy in her design work. She worked in newspapers and as Creative Services Manager for New Seasons Market for 6 years before starting CB Art & Design in 2015. Her long history in Portland has connected her to many communities; from farmers and chefs who grow and sell their food to artists, dancers and hunger relief non-profits. She loves helping people make their stories visible and is passionate about the power of connecting with an audience both through design and her work as an artist. When not working she loves to hike and spend time in the garden growing too many vegetables and then figuring out what to cook.
